Youth Justice Support

A specialist partnership pathway for practical mentoring and community support for young people involved with the justice system.

Youth justice support works alongside the authorised agency and the young person’s existing supports. Practical activities may focus on education, routines, relationships and constructive participation in the community. The young person’s goals are considered alongside safeguarding and any relevant legal conditions. The service does not replace statutory supervision or legal representation. Responsibilities, consent and information sharing are clarified before support begins.

Support may include

  • Support with education, routines and community participation
  • Mentoring and practical skill development
  • Coordination with authorised youth-justice and family services
  • Support guided by the young person’s goals and safeguarding needs
