Disability-related support to develop work readiness, explore vocational goals and build skills for participation in employment.

Employment support starts with the person’s interests, strengths and the activities they would like to pursue. Practical work may include preparing routines, developing communication skills, understanding workplace expectations and exploring suitable opportunities. Support is coordinated with mainstream employment services where appropriate. The person’s goals guide the process; assistance with work readiness does not guarantee a job, placement or a particular employment outcome.

Support may include

  • Identifying strengths, interests and work goals
  • Developing routines, communication and workplace skills
  • Linking with employers and mainstream employment services
  • Support to plan a sustainable transition into work
